   Taking the stamping parts of automobile fenders as an example, a systematic study was conducted on the process decomposition, process combination, and process arrangement issues in the manufacturing of automotive stamping parts. The main criteria for process decomposition, process combination, and process arrangement were summarized, and the implementation process of the entire technology was explained. A clustering mapping method was proposed to generate a process decomposition tree, and a left child node/right sibling node method and a single chain table were used, Connect the shape features of the product models corresponding to the sub nodes of each process in an orderly manner, and establish a preliminary process combination method through process combination reasoning. The proposed method will greatly improve the efficiency of process planning before manufacturing automotive stamping parts

   A new expression method for automotive stamping product models, namely stamping feature semantic tree, has been proposed recently. This method extracts high-level geometric and topological information with specific engineering semantics that process designers are concerned about from the massive, discrete, low-level, redundant geometric and topological information contained in the product model. Therefore, it can not only express high-level geometric and topological information of shape features, but also, It can also express the rich engineering information contained in the product model. At the same time, a new rule-based reasoning strategy, namely rule semantic reasoning strategy, is proposed to search and match between the stamping feature semantic tree and process design rules. Based on the stamping feature semantic tree and rule semantic reasoning strategy, a new stamping process analysis method is proposed, Avoiding automatic feature recognition for free form surface models and inference for underlying data of product models
